Edgar Corona is a second year medical student with the UCLA PRIME at the David Geffen School of Medicine. He grew up in the predominantly, low income community of Baldwin Park, CA in the San Gabriel Valley, and he is proudly a first generation Mexican-American, a first generation college graduate, and the first ever in his family to pursue a career in medicine. Edgar chose the UCLA PRIME program because he aspires to become a physician dedicated to caring for under-resourced communities like his own. His interests are in health promoting health equity and cancer prevention. Currently, Edgar serves as UCLA LMSA's Mentorship Coordinator, UCLA PRIME Council’s Curriculum Co-chair, and as a student volunteer for the Kaiser/UCLA Center for Health Equity.
