Dr. Hiatt is Chair of the National Product Council for Kaiser Permanente and Chair of the Southern California Permanente Medical Group (SCPMG) Technology Deployment Strategy Team. She is a partner in SCPMG and is currently Assistant Medical Director, Business Management, responsible for expanding market initiatives projects for SCPMG. Additionally Dr. Hiatt is a member of the national External Relations team working as a National Accounts Physician Market Leader.

Dr. Hiatt joined Kaiser Permanente as a general surgeon at Panorama City in 1984, later serving as Chief of Surgery at that location and member of the SCPMG Board of Directors. Dr. Hiatt received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University and her medical degree from Duke University. She trained in general surgery at UCLA. In addition to her clinical degree, Dr. Hiatt received an M.B.A from UCLA's Anderson School of Management.

Dr. Hiatt continues to be actively involved in many surgical organizations, such as the Longmire Surgical Society, the Association of Women Surgeons, and the UCLA Dept of Surgery Executive Committee. She is the Chair of the Fellow Interview Committee for the Southern California Chapter of the American College of Surgeons.
