Hi! My name is Karla and I'm the UCLA LMSA Co-Chair. I'm originally from Los Angeles, but consider Bakersfield home since I spent my teenage years there. I am a double bruin and graduated from undergrad at UCLA in 2017 with a double major in Molecular Bio and Spanish, Community and Culture. My roles within LMSA include coordinating our largest fundraiser, La Posada, as well as being a point of contact for collaborations and ensuring our board members have the support they need to host successful events. At DGSOM, I'm also the MS2 Professionalism Council Rep. I'm currently exploring ophthalmology with a focus on serving underresourced communities. To keep myself happy, I enjoy learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, eating ice cream and trying new restaurants around LA. Feel free to email me if you have any questions!
