Kasee Houston was raised in Nashville, TN and moved to Goodyear, Arizona as a sophomore in high school. She attended San Diego State University and received a Bachelor’s of Arts in Biology and a minor in Spanish. Falling in love with the weather and the lifestyle of the west coast, she decided to make California her permanent home. As a Charles R. Drew/UCLA PRIME student, Kasee found a program that would empower her as a physician in training and enable her to develop tools to work with underrepresented communities, especially African American and Latino populations. Kasee plans to utilize her training to serve the communities of Southern California as a well-rounded and culturally sensitive physician. At UCLA, she is also involved with the Student National Medical Association and mobile clinic. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, working out, watching movies, and painting her nails.
