Liliana Casas is from a small city in the Inland Empire, Rialto, CA. She comes from a tight-knit family with three older sister and two hard working parents. Her parents emigrated from a small ranch in Central Mexico and have always valued the importance of education, since they themselves were only able to attend elementary school. Liliana attended UC Davis and graduated with honors with a BS in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior in 2011. During that time, she was part of the founding members of ACTOS (ayudando comunidades trayendo oportunidades y servicios), a community service club targeted at helping underserved agricultural families. Liliana has always had a strong interest in pursing medicine and eventually coming back and helping her community which she hopes to accomplish with her acceptance into Charles Drew University/UCLA medical program. During her first year, she has served on the executive board for the Drew 2018 class as fundraising coordinator and has been very involved in interviews and pre-matriculation for the incoming class. In the coming year, she is excited to continue her work with mobile clinic, Drew University, and LMSA, as one of the community Outreach Chairs. Liliana hopes that this work will help her become the best physician she can for her community.
