Hola! My name is Matthew Rios and I’m the CDU LMSA Co-Chair! I earned my degree in Neuroscience and a minor in Global Health at UCLA, so I’m a proud double Bruin! My role in LMSA is to work with my fellow Co-Chair, Irvin, to lead LMSA and create a supportive community for our Latinx medical students. Along with being the LMSA Co-Chair I’m also a Medical Education Committee Representative, a Chief Mentoring Officer at MiMentor, and the Co-President for the CDU Class of 2025. There are a lot of areas of medicine that interest me including psychiatry, pediatrics, internal medicine, cardiology, addiction medicine, and pulmonology. The list keeps growing and growing. I’m passionate about medical education and mentorship. This is because I am the first in my family to graduate from college and if it weren’t for pipeline programs and help from mentors I would not have been able to get to the place I’m at today. In my free time I like to hike, travel, and go out with friends. If you ever ride with me there’s a good chance you’ll hear Bad Bunny in the playlist.
