About
Hola! My name is Samantha and I'm one of two LMSA Co-Chairs. I earned my BS in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Studies and MS in Global Medicine from USC in 2016 and 2017, respectively. My role within LMSA involves collaborating with my fellow Co-Chair, Karla, to lead the UCLA/CDU Chapter of LMSA. As Co-Chairs we help support our executive board in developing events for LMSA general members, pre-medical students, and the local Latinx community. In addition to my invovlement with LMSA, I serve as a Chief Mentorship Officer for MiMentor and I am an anatomy tutor for the first year medical students here at DGSOM. I am passionate about health education, mentorship, and community health and aim to serve underresourced communities of Los Angeles as a future physician. I am currently interested in Obstetrics & Gynecology, but am still exploring specialties in medicine! On my free time I enjoy exercising at Orangetheory Fitness, exploring LA in search of good food, and spending time with my fur baby named Lily Bear Garcia.
