Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA) at the David Geffen School of Medicine and Charles R. Drew University unites a community of students, alumni, and health professionals. Our mission is to promote the advancement of Latinx students, patients, and community members throughout greater Los Angeles. By fostering higher educational programs, community volunteering, and networking opportunities, our greater mission is to increase the representation of Latinx health professional students to improve health equity advocacy and policies, in partnership with underserved communities, through the development of:

  1. Educational Programs: Lunch talks, Monthly general meetings, and Mentorship with undergraduate premed organizations including Latinxs/Chicanx for Community Medicine (LCCM).
  2. Community Volunteering: Annual community health fair, Med Mentors mentorship, UCLA MEDPEP mentorship.
  3. Professional and Networking opportunities: Welcome BBQ with other cultural affinity groups (SNMA/APAMSA), faculty mentorship mixer, LMSA regional/national conferences.
